   Lecturing

Kraljevo 13th March 2009

A lecture on Palliative Care was held on 12th March 2009 in Kraljevo and was organised by the Centre for Continual Medical Education from Health Centre “Studenica”, along with the local branch office of the Serbian Cancer Society.

This was a well organised meeting and more then 200 doctors had the oppor- tunity to hear Dr Natasa Milicevic speak about “Co- ntemporary Concept of Pa- lliative Care”. This lecture covered basic information about the foundations and history of the contemporary hospice-palliative care mo- vement, how palliative care is organised in other countries around the world, and about the main problems that Serbian patients and their families face.

There was also a discussion about how appropriate and properly structured palliative care can and must alleviate the problems encountered by patients, thus allowing them to live with more dignity and less suffering until their death.
