Members of BELhospice attended the National seminar for Patients’ Rights
Advocacy that was held at the Megatrend
University in Belgrade. This seminar was
organised by the Initiative "Strength to
the Patients" and the Institute for
public health of Serbia "Dr
Milan Jovanovic Batut' and under the patronage of the Ministry of Health and the State House
of Health Insurance.
The main goal of this seminar was to train patients, people representing
patients,
relatives, colleagues and friends in the skills of public relations,
relations with members of
Parliament and Government, lobbying, advocacy, ethics
and other activities regarding patients’ rights advocacy.
Several patients’ societies discussed their positive experiences, how
they succeed to help their members to,
before everything else, learn about what
their rights as patients are, and then
how to achieve those rights.
We do hope that these and similar
initiatives in future will help patients
to achieve their rights more easily. |
