BELhospice Alumni Club held another expert meeting on 05th December at “Prue Dufour” education centre on the subject “Palliative care in chronic non-malignant lung disease”. The expert meeting was accredited by the Serbian Health Council and held by Dr Leonida Đukanović.
The meeting was attended by 20 professionals who are involved in their health institutions in the provision of palliative care for cancer patients in the advanced stages of illness.
The participants estimated that the topic was unavoidable and important for better and more efficient provision of palliative care, not just for the cancer patients.
They presented their experiences in working with patients with advanced non-malignant lung disease and actively participated in the discussion.
The purpose of this topic and the expert meeting was to point out the problems of all patients with advanced or incurable diseases, not only cancer patients, to the medical professionals and to motivate participants for a more active approach in order to provide better quality care to these patients.
