The Austrian model of hospice and palliative care is integrating and recognizes various providers of hospice and palliative care and also different modalities and sources of funding, which can best be seen on the example of hospice Caritas Socialis.
BELhospice team had the honor to meet with the director of the umbrella organization for hospice and palliative care (www.hospiz.at), Mrs Leenom Pelttari, who is also the Volunteer working group coordinator within the European Association for Palliative Care. We also met with Mr. Johann Baumgartner and representatives of the Erste Foundation Mr. Nikola Vučen and Ursula Dechant.
We look forward to establishing new partnerships and acquiring new knowledge and experiences that we will be able to apply in our work in Serbia. We plan to further develop cooperation through projects which will be related to the improvement of volunteerism and education of providers of palliative care services.
We thank Leeni Pelttari for the invitation and well-organized visit, as well as Miss Naidi Džaky for hospitality. We would like to give special thanks to the Erste Foundation for financial support for the organization of this visit.
