Ninth BELhospice Volunteers Training was held from October 31st to November 3rd 2016, and it was successfully completed by 19 people. After this training, the number of people trained for volunteering in the field of palliative care has risen to 155.
In 4 days of volunteers training, the attendees had an opportunity to acquire basic knowledge about the history, principles and goals of palliative care, fundraising, medical, social, psychological and spiritual aspects of care, the role and importance of volunteers, and also watch a few educational videos.
Based on the evaluation reports, we are proud to say that both the training and the trainers were evaluated with highest grades. The trainees especially liked the psychosocial lecture by our psychologist contributor Tamara Klikovac.
After this training, BELhospice center will be even richer, gaining new humane and enthusiastic people who will, with their participation in all 3 sections of volunteering, devote their free time and support to the patients and their families, the fundraising team and the organisation itself.
Volunteer coordinator Katarina Sivčević emphasises that this group of volunteers has been especially inspired and enthusiastic in spreading the mission and the vision which has been promoted by BELhospice and the philosophy of palliative care, and she states that their are the mirror of the prettier part of our society.
