“When my brother, who had been in a wheelchair for years due to paralysis, became more ill, our home changed radically. Support, which was previously important due to his basic condition, became necessary. Every kind of help, conversation, support, witnessing at those moments was extremely important for all of us. <\/p>\n
I heard about BELhospice for the first time when I received an invitation to participate in one of their charity events with painted silk scarves, considering that I myself deal with that expression.<\/p>\n
Of course I agreed, and a few years later I approached them \u2014 then my brother was unwell again. Two young, pleasant volunteers came once a week to visit him. Their visits became real little oases for him. <\/p>\n
Being very friendly and charming, he quickly won them over with his immediacy, jokes and stories. They brought him a sense of belonging and life. They talked about movies, music, love, life. They drank coffee, laughed. Everyone somehow revived and got new hope. <\/p>\n

I believe that you don’t have to go through such a situation to understand how much this kind of support means. And then, after a while, mom got sick too. And again, just like the first time, BELhospice was there. This time we knew how much their presence meant. <\/p>\n
The very fact that you can turn to someone in moments when the ground slips away from under your feet is priceless. The social worker’s visits were valuable \u2014 he explained our rights and obligations, patiently, step by step, at times when our heads were full of worries. <\/p>\n
Doctors and nurses came for home examinations, brought necessary things, gifts, but also something that cannot be packed in a bag \u2014 the feeling of security that you always have someone to turn to. For mom, that support meant reassurance. For me \u2014 strength, because when you care about someone you love, you easily forget about yourself. <\/p>\n
