It&#8217;s over 3,000 home visits a year. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s how often, in a single year, the BELhospice palliative care team steps into someone&#8217;s home: a doctor, a nurse, a social worker, a psychologist, a volunteer. What makes those visits possible isn&#8217;t an abstract budget, but the people who contribute year after year. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the ball three years ago, we spoke about the circles that form when people come together around a shared cause. Last year, we stepped into the centre of that circle. This time, we&#8217;re asking what holds those circles together.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s the golden thread. It doesn&#8217;t bring people together because of what they have in common, but because they&#8217;ve stood on the same side of someone&#8217;s final year: patients and families, nurses and volunteers, donors and partners, friends.
