Under the project “Advancing human rights through improved palliative care services”, financed and supported by The Balkan Trust for Democracy of the German Marshall Fund of the United States and Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade, BELhospice has organized on 5 and 6 February 2020 the two days training regarding pain management and palliative care principles for 30 participants, mainly doctors and nurses from public, private health and social care institutions from Belgrade, Nis and Novi Sad. The aim of the training was to enhance their capacities to be able to elevate pain more effectively and enable beneficiaries with life limiting illnesses better quality of life. All participants were satisfied with the knowledge obtained and found the training valuable for their practical work.
Lecturers were Dr. Snezana Bosnjak, Dr. Jelena Dimitrijevic and Dr. Miljana Damnjanovic, all eminent professionals in a field of pain management and palliative care.
Palliative care is a fundamental human right that enables right to dignity especially to the most sensitive vulnerable groups. Knowledge and right to leave without pain is crucial.
