As a part of the program for support of grieving families, on 26 September, a workshop entitled “Memory Day” was held at Belhospice centre. Palliative care does not end with the death of a patient, because continued support to their family is needed during the period of bereavement.
The aim of the workshop was to work through the feelings of deep sadness, suffering and other emotions, which are present after the loss of a loved one, through positive memories and emotions, in order to facilitate the grieving process of the families.
Eleven participants were present at the workshop, held by Mijodrag Bogićević, social worker, Tamara Klikovac, psychologist and Jovan Blagojevic, theologist.
Family members had an opportunity to remember their loved ones, their distinctive features, important events or dates and to share their memories with other participants, or quietly adorn the Memory Tree.
