The Fourth Training Course for Volunteers has been Complited

dec 6, 2013Education, Volunteers

International Volunteer Day (5th December) is being celebrated worldwide to remind us of the day when the United Nations Volunteers Programme was established in 1970. The fourth training course for BELhospice volunteers was finished exactly on this day.

The aim of the United Nations Volunteers Programme is to encourage as many people as possible to offer voluntary services. People of good will, as they are often called, do not expect any financial award – except moral and social satisfaction. They think of helping other people and devoting time to them as an expression of humanity, solidarity and mutuality, as well as having a responsibility for their community.

The fourth group of BELhospice volunteers has successfully completed the training course. This group consists of 17 new, brilliant and, largely young people. They had a chance to acquire basic historical knowledge, principles and aims of palliative care, be introduced to medical, social, psychological and spiritual aspects of palliative care, as well as watching a few informational films.

With this training course, BELhospice Center will become even richer, not only in number, but more importantly because new, young and humane people will join. With their engangement through all of the three pillars of volunteering, they will give family members respite and they will also contribute to the fund raising team and to the organization as a whole.
