We are happy to announce that long awaited project on renovation of the works on the Hospice Day Care centre is finally completed. The official completion of the works was attended by Zoran Đorđević, Minister of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs, Yngve Engstrom, Head of Cooperation at Delegation of the EU in Serbia, H.E. Denis Keefe, Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Marko Jovanovic Assistant Minister of Finance, Graham Perrols, Chairman of the Management Board of the BELhospice Centre, H.E. Arne Sanes Bjornstad, Ambassador of Norway, H.E. Koen Adam, Ambassador of Belgium, H.E. Thomas Schieb, Ambassador of Germany, H.E. Rut Stewart, Australian Ambassador, Regina de Dominicis, UNICEF Director, Milos Ignjatovic, President of the City Municipality of Zvezdara, Brankica Jankovic, Commissioner for Equality, Bozidar Dakic, Director of the Republic Institute for Social Welfare.
The BELhospice project „Day Care Centre of the first Hospice in Serbia“ received support in the framework of the grant scheme „Development of efficient community services in the area of education and social protection at the local level“ implemented through partnership cooperation of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia – Sector for Contracting and Financing Programs from funds from the European Union, the Ministry of Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy and the European Union. The total value of the grant is 329,590 EUR, out of which EU contribute with 197,048 EUR, and the BELhospice center with 132,542 EUR.
On this occasion the BELhospice Sustainability Club was officially presented, which gathers many individuals and corporate partners who contributed significantly to the establishment of the first Hospice Day Care Centre.
The first patients who will be able to use free of charge Day Care Centre services are expected in two to three weeks. BELhospice will provide Day Care services for 20 cancer patients and their family members on a daily basis.
