For the past four years, it has been the tradition of the BELhospice center to fill its rooms with holiday cheer and creativity.
Thursday the 24th of December will be another in a series of unforgettable days at the BELhospice center. We have organized a creative workshop, i.e. an opportunity for patients, volunteers and employees to have a good time together while making some ornaments and greeting cards before the New Year.
Thanks to our experience from previous themed creative workshops for patients, a pleasant atmosphere and creativity are the expected standard and were not lacking this time around. With smiles, music, and the singing of the students from the Belgrade Faculty of Orthodox Theology, genuine little works of art were created. We made various ornaments using a variety of techniques and different materials and objects: ornaments for Christmas trees, room decorations, snowflakes, little Christmas trees, crowns, as well as beautiful greeting cards. Patients, volunteers and employees raced each other to create the most creative ornament or card possible.
The goal of BELhospice creative workshops is the reactivation of the social lives of patients, that is, the reduction of the social isolation which is inevitably caused by serious illness. We are glad to be able to take our patients’ minds off their illness, even if only for a few hours.
This creative workshop for patients was held thanks to the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Belgrade.
We are especially grateful to the students and volunteers from the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade: Ranka Madžarević, Jovana Bonić, Aleksandar Đurđević, Georgije Jevrosimov and Marko Mladenović, for creating a great atmosphere with their songs and music.
