Remembrance Day Workshop was held at BELhospice centre on Tuesday, May 30th 2017. The workshop provides professional, psychological support to family members of our deceased patients. Support in the period of grieving is a constituent part of palliative care, a service rendered by our Centre for more than 4 years.
Impression of one of the participants: I enjoyed talking and reminiscing of people dear to us, because people live as longs as they are mentioned and remembered.
In palliative care, the primary unit is a patient and their family members, meaning that professional assistance to the family is continued after the passing of the patient, via bereavement support.
Participants of the workshop had the opportunity to learn about the fundamental stages of grief, their length and frequent emotions that accompany the process, and then to remember special qualities of their loved ones, including interesting and funny moments of their lives.
The workshop was attended by 11 participants and was moderated by clinical psychologist, docent dr Tamara Klikovac and social worker Mijodrag Bogicevic.
This workshop was organized as part of the “Strengthening Civil Society” project, supported financially by the The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade.
