On Saturday, the BELhospice Day Care Center was a place of knowledge, exchange and inspiration – through education dedicated to pediatric nurses who provide support to children with serious, life-threatening illnesses.

At the seminar “Multidisciplinary approach to pain”, the complexity of pain, the emotions of families, the importance of empathy and the role of the team in providing palliative care to children were discussed.

• What is “total pain” in a child and how to approach it?
• How to talk to family in difficult times?
• How does a multidisciplinary approach make a difference?

Together with NURDOR, which recognized the importance of continuous education in this area, we gathered more than 35 sisters from different cities of Serbia – and took an important step towards a better and more humane practice.
