Bereavement support

Our bereavement support service is primarily tailored to your personal needs, through individual sessions. Our social workers and psychologist provide counseling sessions for couples, but also for the whole family, if there is a need and desire of all individual members.

Support of families to members during the period of bereavement is an integral part of palliative care.

Losing loved ones is an integral part of life. They happen everywhere and to everyone. This period can be accompanied by various physical, emotional, and social changes compared to life before the death of a loved one. Our services do not end when the patient dies, but remain there for you, so that we can support you in this difficult period of life.

Grieving is individual. Members of the same family, after the loss of a member, may grieve in different ways and have different needs. Grieving is influenced by the type of loss (spouse, parents, siblings, child, grandparents, other loved ones), as well as other individual, family and environmental factors.

If the family member is a child, a young person, an adolescent, we recommend that you consult with our psycho-social team, if possible, before the loss itself.

With the aim of additional support, we periodically organize group sessions.
