Volunteer program

Direct work with patients

The first pillar involves spending time with patients and performing small service tasks. As a volunteer, you will be able to talk to the patient, listen to him, socialize at home, or wherever the patient is.

You can read newspapers or books to the patient, help in writing letters or e-mails, or in any other way; you will be in direct contact with the patient, and you will help the person suffering from an incurable disease to feel better and ensure that he has the best possible time.

Also, as part of volunteering, there are small services, such as buying groceries, helping with food and drinks, preparing light meals, housework, etc.

Be spontaneous, natural; try to bring personal quality into the life of a terminally ill patient, it is a priceless human gesture.

Performing service work for patients and families

This pillar includes the activities of the volunteer service that provides practical help to the patient and family members.

By going to get prescription drugs, to purchase and so on, you directly contribute not only to the quality of life of patients, but also provide help to their family members, in a very tiring and exhausting period of life.

By performing these seemingly small tasks, you can achieve a lot for the patient and their family.

Fundraising

Within this pillar, there is the possibility of engaging in a wide variety of jobs within the fundraising sector, the organization of humanitarian actions, such as a charity ball, football tournament, Belgrade Marathon, bowling tournament and a number of other events.

As part of this team, you will have the opportunity to gain experience in the field of socially responsible business and come into contact with the corporate sector. This pillar also includes IT tasks, creating tables, programs, databases, translating texts, promoting the BELhospice center through social networks and other channels.

The BELhospice volunteering program includes the recruitment, training, acceptance and participation of volunteers in various activities within the three pillars of volunteering.

Any adult, responsible, humane and altruistic individual, who is ready to adopt new knowledge and skills in order to perform volunteer activities in the best way, without expecting any material benefit or compensation for their work, can become a member of the BELhospice volunteer team.
