Run & Walk

A right, not a privilege

Why October?

For BELhospice, October is the month of palliative care. This year, World Hospice and Palliative Care Day falls on 10 October.

Every step you take this month can be a clear voice saying: palliative care is something that belongs to all of us, not only to those lucky enough to have heard of it. Access to palliative care shouldn’t come down to luck, chance or circumstance – it should be a right guaranteed to every one of us.

Why palliative care?

Palliative care is a holistic approach to looking after people with incurable illnesses – at home, surrounded by family, from the very first day of the diagnosis. BELhospice provides it free of charge to adult oncology patients and to children with serious and life-limiting illnesses and conditions, through home visits by a team of doctors, nurses, social workers and psychologists.

This October, we’re taking that quiet, everyday care and turning it into something loud – the kilometres that you turn into support and into a clear message: “we all deserve equal access to palliative care”.

How to take part?

STEP ONE

Make a donation of 3,000 RSD to the account of the BELhospice Centre for Palliative Care and Medicine.

Account: 170-230030536-65

Payment reference: Run and Walk

STEP TWO

Individually → Download the Pacer app on your phone, join the BELhospice group, and log the kilometres you cover over the month.

STEP THREE

Send proof of payment to our colleague Tijana Čakić at tijana.cakic@belhospice.org or via WhatsApp on +381 60 711 4449.

STEP FOUR

We’ll then send you the access code for the Pacer group, and you’re ready to start walking.

When to take part?

This time, the campaign starts on Friday, 18 September 2026 and runs for a month, but you’re welcome to join at any point along the way.

Pridružite nam se pojedinačno ili timski, gde god da se nalazite – prijavite se sami ili čitav tim vaše kompanije i uključite kolege u zajednički izazov.

This year’s Run & Walk goal is 120,000 km – and you can be part of that total.

Take part on your own or as a team, wherever you are – sign up individually, or bring in your whole company and get colleagues involved in the challenge together.
