What is the golden thread?

The golden thread isn’t just an idea. It’s over 3,000 home visits a year.

That’s how often, in a single year, the BELhospice palliative care team steps into someone’s home: a doctor, a nurse, a social worker, a psychologist, a volunteer. What makes those visits possible isn’t an abstract budget, but the people who contribute year after year.

At the ball three years ago, we spoke about the circles that form when people come together around a shared cause. Last year, we stepped into the centre of that circle. This time, we’re asking what holds those circles together.

It’s the golden thread. It doesn’t bring people together because of what they have in common, but because they’ve stood on the same side of someone’s final year: patients and families, nurses and volunteers, donors and partners, friends. And, in the end, everyone who understands that we all deserve the same quality of life.

What to expect

✔ A gala dinner at the Hyatt Regency Belgrade, in the company of people who recognise the value of giving, of standing behind others, and of making palliative care available to those who need it.

✔ All proceeds will allow BELhospice to continue providing palliative care services to patients and their families free of charge.
